Track 11: Hellendoorn to Holten - 15.8 km / 20 Photos

Today will be my second track over the Sallandse Heuvelrug. When I arrived in Nijverdal from home this morning the mini bus
to take was full and I had to wait 30 minutes for an additional bus to arrive that took me to Hellendoorn to start the hike.
After arriving in Holten it was a bit weird to take a train to Wierden (east) first and then back to Zwolle
(west) instead of traveling home via Deventer as I expected but this appeared to be the fastest travel.

After the camp was cleared, the forest took over the land. The memorial was not placed until 2003

Sheepfold built in 1973 to allow sheep to graze the heath. Unfortunately, this grazing was a threat to the rare black grouse and therefore the flock of sheep was reduced in the nineties
