From the trainstation in Ommen the trail will start to go upward to the Sallandse heuvelrug en daarom is dit de eerste echte etappe
van het Pieterpad waar zal moeten blijken of ik met de artrose in mijn enkels nog in staat ben enigszins heuvelopwaart te lopen.
After a beautiful day of walking over several hills, I am happy that I got through this day without any problems
with only 3 breaks on a bench with food I brought myself and the weather that also allowed it.

Inmediately from the trainstation in Ommen the track runs over quiet country roads

Old farmhouse with stables converted in to living quarters and and shutters painted in regional colours

Outside of Ommen the the landscape becomes undulating

Typical for many places in the Netherlands: an old dirt road that is only used as a service road with a paved cycle path next to it for recreational users

Coming out of the forest the village of Hellendoorn can be seen on the horizon

From the entrance of the village I will leave the trail and take a shortcut to the busstop
