For my Family and Dutch friends

It takes me too much time to maintain this website in two lanquages. For my English speaking friends I have decided to keep it in English only from now. I hope you will all understand this and still enjoy reading.

  Hong Kong and China
After having a great time in Australia and New Zealand for more then 7 Months I moved to Hong Kong where I arrived on the 20th of June 2005 (my birthday). There I moved into an apartment at the Horizon Suite Hotel in the city of Ma On Chan in the North Eastern Territories. By train 3 stops away from the office and about an hour and 4 trains away from downtown Hong Kong Island.

I prefer to have the short travel time between the office and the apartment as I have to do that every day. Also the area around the office and Ma On Shan is relatively quiet. In the beginning of August I bought a bicycle and since then I ride my bike to and from the office as much as possibe (if it does not rain!).

After three weeks in Hong Kong the highlight of 2005 started: a holiday in China. I met my daughter Shaula in Beijing and from there we started a group tour through the country to end 19 days later in Hong Kong! Read about it by clicking on the city names on the map.

A new Website for a new Challenge
Since November 1st 2004 I am part of the Asia Pacific implementation team for the SGS BOSS project and I work with the team based in Perth (Western Australia). My role is mainly focused on Order Management and apart from meeting people to define the setup I will be training (super)users.

This means a lot of traveling and I will be away from home for a long time. In how many country implementations I will be participating is not yet defined but the current plans are Australia / New Zealand, Hong Kong / China and Taiwan.
Departure of the Sea Scouts of Scouting Hellevoetsluis from the harbour of Hellevoetsluis to start their trip to Veere.
At Veere we had our 50 years anniversary Summer Camp. One of the highlights of 2004 for me.
This is the first renewed page of my website. As I will keep track of my whereabouts in Asia and other interesting events more will follow.
Hope you will enjoy it.
The 2004 Summer Camp in Veere was a great succes.
For Scouting Hellevoetsluis I am still managing the financials while I am abroad. Internet technology and the help of another team member on the spot makes this possible.
From May to September 2003 I worked in New York on the implementation project for the US and Canada.
A great experience was the holiday driving from New York to San Francisco with my daughter in a motorhome!
The three weeks I had in Singapore in May and in August 2004 made me decide to accept my current assignment in the Asia Pacific team. Read about people, food and flowers in this great city.
Click to view pictures of Yanchep National Park, Australia On December 4th I went to the Yanchep National Park with Monika and Dina for a bushwalk and a picknick. The park is about 70 kilometers north of Perth. Apart from a good place for bushwalks and picknick you can also view Koalas, Caves and Aboriginal culture in the park.
Click to view pictures of Waitakere Ranges, New Zealand West of Auckland (NZ) are the Waitakere Ranges that I visited during my first weekend in New Zealand. A National Park with stunning views at the Tasman Sea coast and beautiful bushwalks that bring you to Cascades and Waterfalls. At points in these walks you can have views of Auckland and the surrounding area.
Click to view pictures of my trip from Auckland to Napier, New Zealand After being in Auckland for more then a week I had to go and meet users in Napier. I decided to go there by car and drove the 500 kilometers in two days during the weekend. I had a stop in Roterua where I watched a Maori dance and music show during a dinner cooked in a steam oven. On Sunday I walked through the thermal wonders of the Wai-O-Tapu valley.

  Australia and New Zealand
Arriving in Perth on November 6th, I first started with a free weekend and with my colleague Dina I explored the environment of the City: Mandurah, dinner in Rockingham, whale wathing from Freemantle and an unexpected meeting with Monica in Perth.

But then the work started with solving some application setup issues, analysing the business process of a company not standard to the SGS Group and helping users sorting out the services to use and setting up Price Lists.

In the past 2 months I traveled to Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CN), Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, Auckland (NZ) and Napier (NZ). After work and during the weekends I was able to explore these cities and the surrounding country sides which I enjoyed very much.

A quiet Christmas in Perth allowed me to update this site!
