As a young boy I learned about the composer Chopin and started to enjoy his music. I also learned at that time that he was buried at the famous Paris cemetery Père Lachaise and wanted to see his grave.

Today, many years later, I found my way to the cemetery and did visit his grave, as well as the graves of Jim Morrison and Edith Piaf.

Although I know that the Dutch painter Karel Appel was buried there in 2006, none of the guides I had told me where.

The first picture of this album was taken at Place de la République on my way to Père Lachaise. The last at Nation. Who said the French are nationalists?
